The pest inspection is focused on the presence of or damage from wood destroying organisms and conditions conducive to infestation. Wood destroying organisms include termites, carpenter ants and wood boring beetles, as well as fungus that can cause wood rot. Spiders, mice and other forms of pests are not part of the Wood Destroying Pests Inspection. Many clients choose to have pest inspections performed at the same time as structural or home inspections and pest inspections may be required by lenders for financing.
